Why always RSS?

Always I wondered why the secular sect of political parties gets tormented even by the slightest thought of RSS.

The inquisitiveness in me roused manifold when I saw a political debate over alleged RSS & Anna Hazare link in a 24*7 news channel. As propagated, it seems in general that RSS might be an orthodox right wing Hindu nationalist organization working for the welfare of only Hindus. But the facts available online give you an all together different picture. The policy of minority appeasement for the sake of individual political gains is the prime source for such a distorted image. 

Why always RSS and other Hindu organizations are seen with a layer of suspicion? 

Ironically, the same government that leaves no stone upturn in ridiculing the social organizations in the name of national security pleads in with the terrorist groups for an open discussion with no conditions. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the government of India that liberated Dadra and Nagar Haveli from Portuguese occupation but the social organizations like RSS that compelled the Portuguese officials to free Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The liberation of Dadra and Nagar Haveli gave a boost to the freedom movement against the Portuguese in Goa. 

Even the former critic of RSS Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru appreciated the volunteer work of the Sangh during the Sino-Indian War in 1962 and had called them to take part in the Indian Republic day parade of 1963. Later in 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars too, the RSS volunteers offered their services to maintain law and order of the country and were apparently the first to donate blood. While in 1947 when the major political party shook hands with the Britishers and went ahead with the partition of the country, the RSS opposed the brutish Britishers and Muslim separatism. Sadly, none recalls it today. 

The so-called secular parties wastes no time whatsoever in accusing RSS for being anti-nationalist when many of the religious outfits in the country that are working to destabilize the Indian state are seldom checked and controlled for mere political gains . Google it and you will find that the sole motto of RSS is to revitalize the Indian value system based on universalism and peace with an immediate focus on Hindu renaissance, which would build an egalitarian society and a strong India that could propound this philosophy. The organization says, it aspires to unite all Hindus and build a strong India, which could contribute to the welfare of the world. The movement considers Hindus as inclusive of Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, tribals, untouchables, Veerashaivism, Arya Samaj, Ramakrishna Mission, etc. as a community, a view similar to inclusive referencing of the term Hindu in the Indian Constitution. 

When the country is suffering from illiteracy and poverty the RSS is taking a lead role in providing the education to people of rural India and socially backward classes living under the extreme poverty. The messiah of Harijans Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar while visiting the RSS camp at Pune observed that RSS volunteers were moving in absolute equality and brotherhood with no sign of caste differences. On the other hand government never misses a chance of creating differences in between different religions and castes. Even in the Jan Lokpall bill where the prime motto was eradicating corruption the government tabled reservations thus dividing the country based on religious lines. Dr Zakir Hussain the former President of India once said that the allegations against RSS of violence and hatred against Muslims are wholly false. Muslims should learn the lesson of mutual love, cooperation and organization from RSS. 

The country must understand the evil motive of the government in fueling a conspiracy theory against the social organizations like RSS. Hindus in particular and Indians in general must use their electoral powers wisely in keeping such political parties away from the power module who defame the nation with false allegations. The spokesperson of such political parties won’t gather courage to utter even a single word against the ones who beat up fellow North Indians or against the ones who cry out loud to divide the country for political gains. But never losses a chance to cry foul against the noble deeds of right wing organizations. 

A thought may creep in your mind that why the self proclaimed secular political parties are against such a nationalist social organization that has no political inclination?  

The fear accumulates from the revolutionary like foundation and working of RSS. Rough figures estimates that there are around 5-6 million RSS member throughout the country. Though the organization has no political upbringing yet the fear of political appraisal worry the political sleuths. Someday mass hysteria cause due to lowering of political standards may bring in revolutionary organization RSS as the central socio-political outfit making it hard for family politics to sustain.

A Hard Nut to Crack

Trekking high to the mountains of Kailash at the abode of Lord Shiva finding solace I happened to bounce back on many of the life hardest dark realities which I confronted in my last post. This time I won’t ride the personal cart and will try to discover an accord with country irresolvable disputes.

Our country Preamble provides us the liberty to worship any religion of our choice in a way which suits us the best. Over the centuries many different religions were embraced by the state, many of which like Buddhism and Jainism were formed in order to demulsify the corrupt practices in the main Hinduism religion.  Other major religion practiced in the sub-continent is the Sikhism which again finds its root deeply penetrated in the country’s biggest religion, Hinduism. Islam and Christianity are the only two other major religion which were brought up in the sub-continent with the advent of foreign traders and still after years of emulsification are looked down as something extrinsic. 

I’m not a religious fanatic but a simple question sometimes haunts me that when majority of religions in India can be seen as the branches of the primary tree Hinduism than why time again and again only the saffron clad people are exempted from the government and other social organizations sympathy? Why aren’t they included in the government religious reforms? Why only there schools of worships are tormented by state associations for disturbing the secular fabric of the country? 

Another perplexing topic swinging in my mind is the flexible nature of our constitution which provides RIGHT TO LIVE even to a person who brutally killed thousands. Such is the apathy of political class in troubled states that once a terrorist surrenders he gets a government job with all criminal cases registered in his name omitted irrespective of the fact that the same person killed hundreds of innocent people and many of our brave soldiers died fighting against him. 

Have you seen recently a full page advertisement in the dailies letting you know about the government ambitious project? All such initiatives come with a deadline as to complete the project in the set amount of time. But in our great corrupt country hardly ever a project met its deadline. Even after completing the project many loopholes exists telling us about the miserable state machinery. 

While heading for the Mt. Kailash I witnessed shoddy affairs of the booming telecom and energy sector. I encountered many hydro-electricity projects on the way but none able to supply electricity to the nearest village even for few hours. While the rest of India is connected through an enhanced communication network the towns there were grasping even for the slightest of signal. Parliamentarians start visiting the villages and towns in your constituencies asking for breath of growth and development or you may have to face lakhs of Anna.

Obama V/s Osama: Clash Of Titans

A lot has been said and written about the concerned topic yet when Vanya asked me to pen down an article on the same topic I couldn’t resist her spark and so finally succumbed to her pressure.

It may seem easy to pen down an article on something eminent but the mere possibility of susceptible readers makes it difficult. The topic most talk about remain afresh into the minds of people and so anything said or done with respect to those topics are sure to get into an intellectual comparison which undoubtedly increases the pressure on a writer, in this case me, manifold.

Barack Hussein Obama II, or simply Obama, is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office. Obama, a law graduate is known for his civil right work he did in Chicago. Obama’s positive and combatant attitude led him to the post of President after losing the same earlier. He once said the three men he admired the most were Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King.

Being an excellent orator he knows the importance of 2W’s approach of good communication i.e. what and when to speak. It seems like other American Presidents Obama too has this peculiar habit of feeling that the world is not a perfect place to live which makes him force his so called idealistic goals and vision on the less perfect countries, often leading to disagreement and discord. Obama seem to be a sensitive man and take on things as a matter of pride which compelled him to finally trace, seize and kill Osama.

Obama and Osama names have much the same spelling, their undue desire to rule the world and their importance in the history classes makes them none but all similar to each other. Not only this but also several other similarities make them look-a-like. Few of their similarities were their never ending desire to succeed.

Osama, like Obama, was a great orator and knows exactly how to play with his words which made him a messiah of Islamic world and a saviour of Islam religion in general. He was deeply engrossed in his cause that the path he choose mattered less for him.

Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, or simply Osama, was the founder of the dreaded terrorist organization the Al-Qaeda. He wasn’t like the other terrorists and was much educated (it never means that I keep record of other terrorists’ educational background). He studied economics and business and even some reports suggest that he earned a degree in civil engineering and public administration. Like Obama, Osama was also inclined in charitable work from his university days and could be easily located interpreting the Quran and jihad in the college campus.

Both Obama and Osama considered each other as hardliner; whilst former accused the latter as misinterpreting Islam, the latter charged the former with conspiracy theory of eliminating Muslims, looting Muslim wealth and irreverence towards the Islam religion.

The only difference in them seems to be the iconic use of religion in Osama’s life. One’s the dearest of all in fight against the Russians dramatically became the most hated person for the Americans. Osama escaped the fury of two American presidents but yielded his breath to the motivational Obama presidential pledge where he promised to kill bin Laden and crush Al-Qaeda.

India Burned

A happy 62^nd Republic Day to all my countrymen. This post is about the pain and suffering which India witnessed and went through in all this 62 years of its being a republican state. 

1.       India burned when it was cut into two pieces, it was partitioned.
2.       India burned when its citizens acted like butchers, killing each other horrendously.
3.       India burned when its father of nation was assassinated.
4.       India burned when it was demarcated and states were formed on linguistic lines.
5.       India burned when merit took the backseat and caste became the primary criteria for imparting education.
6.       India burned when it became a tradition of amending Constitution for one’s vested interests.
7.       India burned when its people took to street demanding freedom.
8.       India burned when corruption charges were levied on PM.
9.       India burned when there were riots throughout the country.
10.   India burned when a foreigner guilty of remiss causing a holocaust was let free and provided a free passage out of the country.

11.   India burned when it was ransacked again and again by its citizens for selfish demands.
12.   India burned when “below the table” approach engulfed all the government offices.
13.   India burned when public money was used to disturb the proceedings of Parliament.
14.   India burned when its policy maker took it as an insult to cut down there illegitimate expenses.
15.   India burned when law and medicine slipped into the possession of powerful and wealthy.
16.   India burned when instead of opening education centers tons of public money was spent on the beautification of cities.

17.   India burned when Indians were not allowed to live in respective parts of the country.
18.   India burned when brutal laws were imposed on parts of the country.
19.   India burned when it was bombarded with terrorist attacks.
20.   India burned when conspirators were given a safe haven within the country.
21.   India burned when independent character of state institutions was compromised and endangered.
22.   India burned when half the population of it lived below the poverty line, making it even hard to get one time meal during the day.
23.   India burned when the gap between India and Bharat broadened.
24.   India burned when problems like child labor, illiteracy and crime against women aggravated.
25.   India burns when its citizens have to pen down such an article.

Afghanistan Current Position Part 2

I never thought of writing a second part but there’s an old saying “Never say Never”. This post is in continuation with my last post which was about Afghanistan Current Position. People doubted my integrity and took me as pro-Taliban. This post will clear there doubt and will help in creating a clear picture. 

In my last article about Afghanistan I never said that Taliban role as a violent organization can be justified. Violence in any form can never be justified. I only meant that USA and its allies should look for a better alternative for finding a peaceful solution to Afghan problem. Also, everyone know that Taliban was a brainchild of western powers who thought that such an organization would help them in their vested interest, mainly in fight against the yesteryear USSR. Taliban was formed on religious lines and so has religious upbringing. It’s always hard to break people with religious attitude.

One can easily find it on internet that from where such an organization used to receive its funds and arms supply. It seems quite perplexing that same organization for most of its upbringing received enormous funds from the very same sources that now condemned its activities because now the organization uses its own mind and tactics. Isn’t it confusing?

Lastly, forces were sent in Afghanistan to look for a specific person. If after nearly a decade of failed invasion the Americans aren’t able to locate Osama Bin Laden then they must retreat back. As far as Taliban is concerned I guess it’s upon the government of Indian Subcontinent and Central Asia to come up with a joint effort to eradicate its basic root cause.

An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Kashmir: The Troubled Frontier

Yesterday, I read a news article about the ongoing debate whether the Kashmir is an integral part of India or not. A noted novelist had made a comment saying Kashmir was never a part of India and now it’s the right time for Indian government to liberate it. This post contains mine observation regarding the mention topic.

Britishers brought in with them a centralized form of governance. They united all big and small princely states under one umbrella; in simple language they unified the great Indian Subcontinent. But, Britishers unlike Mughals never invaded India with a motive of being a part of it; instead they only wanted to loot its immense wealth. They can be compared with modern day Taliban. Only difference was that the Britishers were an organized army of robbers.

So, after World War 2 when the world power scenario changed and it became difficult (almost impossible) to rule India, Britishers came up with a new ideology. They could have transformed the power as was vested in the hands of Britishers. But, they went ahead with a new idea of handing over the power to group of people from each community or religion. It was not just the Britishers but also the Allied forces who never wanted to leave the great Indian Subcontinent. They knew that this land had all the elements to become world power again, which could be a trouble for them in future. As a matter of fact, they still control the politics of some countries of the region like Afghanistan and Pakistan. So, they coined the theory of partitioning the country on religious lines. It was left over to rulers of princely states whether to remain with free India or go with the new state of Pakistan.

Sardar Vallabhai Patel with his group of loyal administrators did a commendable job by making most of the princely states to remain with free India either by using political pressure or by force. But, the Maharaja of Kashmir was an ambitious and very arrogant man. He neither wanted to be a part of free India or the new state of Pakistan. In-fact, he wanted to divide India further by making Kashmir a third country to be formed beside Pakistan. But, soon he realized his mistake when the Mujahedeen backed by the Pakistani army attacked the princely state of Kashmir. He realized that it was better to be a part of a secular India rather than to be a part of a country like Pakistan which was formed on religious grounds. He signed the annexation papers and formally the state of Kashmir became an integral part of the Union of India. Later on, acting like a fatherly figure India gave few chunks of Kashmir to Pakistan in order to calm it down. As it is said, the greediness never goes away, so was the case here; Pakistan from the very moment of its formation wanted Kashmir to be an integral part of it. When it became clear that India has a better military then that of the Pakistan, they went ahead with the new setup. And that was building, supporting and providing logistics for cross border terrorism into the territory of India.

Two points should be made very clear: Firstly, as hyped, if the Kashmir is set free as an Independent country, sooner or later the state of Pakistan back by the China would attack it and would enslave them. In that case only one country, the Union of India, can come to their rescue. Secondly, Kashmir will have to depend on India for its resources and daily needs. They will have to import it from the Indian government. In both the scenario, India can never be detached from Kashmir.

In recent media reports I heard some of the Huriyat leaders crying about the double standard of Indian government for the Kashmir. Indian Government never treated Kashmir as an integral part of India and seen it as an outsider, they said. But, they kept mum on the special privileges and autonomy which only the state of Kashmir gets. They cry about the army Special Power Act but never for once they condemned the militancy. Also, the people who think that partition is only way for a permanent solution of the Kashmir problem must for once look at the state of Pakistan.

Lastly, Kashmir was, is and will always be an integral part of the Union of India.

Afghanistan Current Position

This article contains the objective outlook of what I perceived about the Afghanistan problem.

After going through many sources available across the internet I felt, defeating the Taliban militarily with current strategy of coalition forces is unrealistic. It will be very tough job for them in near future even to retain their current controlled areas, which will substantially need addition of more forces.  So the idea of moving out forces from Afghanistan looks a distant reality.

Also, the USA should dictate a political solution to Afghanistan problem rather than militarily by gaining confidence of various Afghan factions. The basic ideology behind the Taliban should be understood first. It’s sad that nearly after a decade of war still the NATO forces look them as terrorist. They should be treated as extremists who have certain fears regarding the power sharing. This can be solved politically by making them a part of democratic process. 

It seems the Afghan government is not fully dedicated in clearing out the Taliban. They receive huge amount of funds from the various world organizations for rebuilding process and fighting the insurgent groups. And, if the Taliban gets wipe out then there will be a substantial reduction in the inflow of funds which the Afghan government fears off. It also looks, as if though the Americans are not interested in getting out of Afghan. The Afghan has a very important strategic location as it is a part of central Asia which has vast amounts of natural resources particularly the natural gas. So might be Americans are interested in ruling the vast Afghan natural reserves.  

The idea of partitioning the country on the ethnic lines can be disastrous as propagated by few high profile people in the coalition establishment. It can create a new theme of nationalization among Afghan people in which Taliban can be looked as a patriotic organization who is against the international and coalition party’s action of destabilizing the country.  It could also create a lawless state along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border which could provide a safe haven for Jihadis groups which can prove fatal not only to western powers but also to neighboring countries like India and Iran. 

The Taliban is taking control of more and more of rural populace and the Afghan government administration is getting restricted to only urban areas.  For the Americans, the idea of withdrawal of forces in the summer 2011 looks impossible rather it will be necessary to send in reinforcements to counter the rising insurgency and withdrawal of European forces.

Recent attacks on the foreign people in Afghanistan who are there for rebuilding process has led to increase in fear among several countries day by day. This matter should be looked into seriously.
